Blackpool lights 2011

Is there a date for this yet folks?

well they are on from 2nd September - 6th November 2011

last year we went on the opening weekend and it was a nightmare.. too busy..
 we didnt go thru them…  plus they didnt switch on till 8..  to late for my kids really

I am hoping whoever is gonna organise it
(any volunteers)…  make it later on in the month so its darker earlier

I know there has been a post about  Blackpool Breeze - Camping Weekend 16-18/9/11.. oerhaps dano is thinking of doing the lights run then..

just keep an eye on the forum i guess

Finally going to get myself along to something.  I'm annoyed with myself for not having plucked up the courage yet.

I know what you mean..  I put it off for a while but now have some really good friends from the club..

We've been to leeds vw festival camping this weekend, all the family..  The mrs had only met a couple before. we had a cracking time and met loads of other forum members   .  she really enjoyed it too 8)

think leeds is a permanent fixture for all the family now

I was actually waiting to see if anyone posted about wanting to go still. A lot of the original people aren't around now. If there is a call for it I'll put something together.
Last year (in my opinion) we tried to do too much in one day. I'd be looking for a chippy tea and then the lights. That way it's easy on patents with younger kids.

We've done opening night/ night after up to now but maybe a switch to a later date would serve better.

Me! I'm up for it…  and I'm sure the NW regulars andybury, markoggy, jetta, ev?  would be depending on their availability

plus some form yorkshire perhaps?


I definitely think later is better..  not as busy and its an earlier switch on

Hi what about wednesday the 7th about 8.15 just as an idea and meet up at macdonalds on squires gate lane .Which is at the end of the M55.by Blackpool airport.
