Newcastle / Sunderland / Durham area meets?

I was really last on here about 2 and a half years ago when I had my first mk1 gti, now I've just bought myself another one and looking back on here it still seems there's very little activity for mk1 meets up here in the northeast  or am I missing something?……..

Sounds like a plan to me David, no harm in trying eh!!!?? Problem being all my petrol head mates are into mostly Jap stuff or VXR type modern cars, but just let me know what you want to do to try and get some bodies together!!

Isuppose some people have to like jap toys lol.

I live just north up the A1 right in the middle of Sunderland, Newcastle and Durham. I live in Washington. I can also remember on the dubsnortheast forum they were having regular meets just off the A19 in between Darlington and Middlesborough, but I'll double check on that

I'm not that far and would be interested in meeting up next year when my cars actually back on the road.

Someone should definitely start something! Maybe not now as its coming up to winter, but start sticking dates and locations out to see what people think/agree too. This topic has had over 700 views so there must be a lot of people interested in the area. Maybe a long cruise and stop off on a sunny day.  Actually, why l am I leaving it to someone else to do, I'll give it a go when the weather shapes up. I've got nothing to loose (apart from petrol if no one turns up haha).

Mushroom100 are you on regional page, i tried to orgainse one for last weekend but it was pretty pointless, what we did end up doing is going for a pint, where abouts are you based?

Haha, as always, if it falls through, head for the pub. I'm from Hartlepool, but I'm happy to travel anywhere in the North East direction. My friends a photographer aswell, so we could get some descent photos!

Hi chaps. I took on north east host a couple of years ago I'm based in Yarm Middlesbrough Stockton area. I tried to organise a few meets to no avail but I'm happy to talk about getting together in the new year. Mines currently off the road and don't think it will be back on the road till march or April next year. But I am more than happy to meet up for a bite to eat and a chat about things and plans for a north east monthly meet.
Whens best Sundays or a midweek night. Let me know when your all free

That sounds like a plan, am working the next 4 Sunday's so I don't know if everyone fancies going for some beer and bait in december and sort out some monthly meets, don't know if it would be worth sorting out a group in Facebook ?
