Aussie MK1 with twins

1978 GL
In the mean time I was looking at getting some big brakes for the MK1. 280's for the front (I'm running MK1 GTI disks) and some disks for the back to replace the MK3 drums on my car.
Even hidden behind 16" wheels these are big.
Rear disks
Trouble is they are still on this Seat which was used as an occasional track day car.
The dash would look good in the MK1.
This is why it hasn't been driven for a year, engine overheated because of a faulty temp gauge. It still has the ABF, just in pieces.
Long story short instead of getting just the parts I wanted I'm now the owner of a lot of parts that I want to fit. Plus some bits I don't need.
My wife is going to kill me.
Cheers

- 1978 MK1 GL 2 door with 2.0 16v ABF, twin 40's, Recaros, lots of suspension mods. I'll get it back on the road one day.
- 1991 MK2 GTI 4 door. Was my daily doing over 1000 ks a week until it hit a truck. RIP. Got another one now and loving it!
- 1991 MK2 GTI 4 door for parts.
- 1998 Seat Cupra + another used as a donor for the MK1
- 1999 Passat Wagon. Needs street cred but at least it's a manual.

I no longer need to do any work on my MK2 GTI. At least I have a donor car that I know the history of.
Totally my own fault. Misjudged the end of a merging lane and ran up the back of a slow moving truck. It was either that or a head-on with a car coming the other way.
Cheers
