Finally updating after a while

hi guys, its been a while since i updated my project and i thought know was about time.
There has been alot going in the owd motors life.
This is how its been coming along:
The Repair!!

Then to this finished to a point as i needed to use it.

Found these beauts for it and had then refurb at work

Trial fitting

I then after running it for a while had a couple of issues as you would expect and the found the rings were worn out. tough decision took place £80 for rings and stay with the 1.8 8valve and possibly 115bhp oooorrr 2.0 16valve for a little more.
Well here you go…..

Couldnt resist the 16vavle.

Thats it so far having a couple of teething issues trying to get it running which im posting on the technical section as i have a few questions about what i can and cant do to get it the way i want it.

I will upload so pictures when it if finally complete and if your as into mk1s as me you will be to.

Stay tuned.

Cheers for the comments. It's coming along slowly. The mis are 15s. Et 25 and et 12. So will be staggered nicely. You thinking of getting some? I haven't seen many with mit's on to be fair.

Was wondering what widths they were, they fit very nicely. I've got some 16x7 fronts and 16x8 rears, bit nervous about them fitting

Sorry for the late reply, only just been able to get on. Yea little nervous of fitting. They are both 15x7.5 I think possibly 15x7 but not x8 for definite. I will have to do some ache work on the back as mine are staggered fronts are et25 and backs are et13.

This was a trial fit before the refurb.

You got any pics of yours with them on?

Tested the front one, seemed ok(ish). Just finished building the rear beam up last night. Hopefully trial fit it next week and see how it looks. Will get a photo with both wheels on.

So I've finally got the tyres put on the wheels and bit the bullet and fitted them.

This is how it stand now, i don't know how I feel about the stance at the minute. Arches need rolling yet though.

Bumper is off for some touch up painting.

Feedback on the look would be muchous appreciated.

Glad you like them. I've had a good play today with camber shims and rolling the arches to where I'm happy.

Cheers.

Now I've done the arches and camber I'm happy.

That's how it stands now. Not a great deal of difference mind.

It's been a while I know but I've been having loads of fun just driving the owd girl. This is how it's finally looking.  :$ think I may spray the spokes a dark colour and leave the lips silver. Just to be a little different  :ocf_emoticons__lmao: anyway. More things to come but for the moment I'm happy.
