That's what I had for mine, but it was very close to the steering rack uj boot, I'm planning to go back to a cast manifold and extend the std down pipe, hopefully will be able to then use a std scirocco 16v mid section, not sure what I'll have coming out the back yet!

rained off for a week and waiting for a connecting pipe for the manifold from ashley exhausts so adapted distributor the get some distance from the master cylinder 20220910_181359.jpg

Do you know what cap that is, and do the standard 16v leads fit it?
I'm going to have to change mine when it goes back together

leads need adapting sure intermotor 45830 will dig the box out mate

Might be tempted to remove the regulator when you have it on the bench and check the brushes and clean up the commutator
