mine has be dipped in acid and gona be full restored :)  without the dust and will live in a air tight bubble for the rest of its life. lol

Hi guys, work on the projects has slowed right down due to family reasons, however trying to get on top of things with two Mk1's in the body shop……here's a few pics of the refurbed washer pump for the water bottle…

Bonnet Latch:

Front wiper assembly



Took ages cleaning the wires and replaced the bolts with new yellow galanvanised ones.


Strangle, haven't got a picture of the final assembly  :dontknow: but you get the idea.

Rad Fan:
Striped, cleaned, painted with new bolts & washers




Headlights:
striped, cleaned, new bolts/washers





again i don't have the end picture…..i'll get the headlights out and take another pic.

Fuel Neck & Tank straps:
Original was in good shape, just started rotting in one corner, which i just cut off. I sent the fuel neck off for acid striping, galvanizing and then power zinc coating, followed by black satin power coat on top.







Tank Straps

Foam piece glued in place


NEXT ISSUE:
Tank, Axle, Wish Bones & Suspension … lol

ah bum, just read through this entire thread eagerly awaiting the finished article. Guess i'll have to wait a bit longer!

Absolutely amazing attention to detail dude, never seen such an in-depth and true to original form restoration before, keep up the good work! and plenty of updates please :)
