Congrats!

I have the same problem with the lowered issue.

You need to find a tracking place where they know cars, I know that sounds daft, but I managed to find a place where they can adjust the angle of the top arms on their hangers to fit over the tyres at around 2 o'clock and 10 o'clock rather than at the usual 1 and 11 o'clock positions. They then use a tape on the centre of the rear wheel rather than using the rear hanger.

I've also been told that laser alignment can do it as thy attach to the wheels rather than hanging stuff. I've also been told that Quik Fit now have laser alignment in some locations. Might be worth giving them a bell?

Otherwise it's down to strings and chalk on a flat level surface, which is a pain in the bum but doable.

I find the same with brakes that have been bled using a bleeder system. I usually use a vacuum bleeder then get a friend (read tramp who needs a tenner) to push the pedal lots for me to bleed them manually afterwards. Seems to stiffen up the pedal a bit more.

Looks good!

I'm going to manually set the tracking as a need to drive it to a place.

Kwik fit branches can have the hunter tracking stuff which is good for lowered cars.

I might have a lead on a lad who races mk1 golfs so it will be set good.

I bled the brakes in the end with a pressure system via the brake bottle but I'm going to run them and see if they improve as it's all new components

Paint samples been taken today and ordering paint for Saturday.

Taking my new mk6 golf interior along to weld up while I'm polishing car up.

Then just needs tracking and new wheels fitting.

It's gone from slow progress to full steam ahead the end is in sight!!

They fit me perfect, love the tartan and should hold me good on the track / road.

Yes a pain but no one seems to have done anything different with regards to rear seats so I took on the challenge.

Need to plan some shows for this year now.

Yes club will have a stand. It’s a great show! Real mix of water and air cooled.

Let me know what settings you end up with for the tracking will you please?

Toe, Camber etc.

I really need more info on that interior too

borednow

I took advice off club gti for tracking settings and went with -1 camber and 0 toe

IMG_5186.JPG

I had to help them set it up as they didn't know how to adjust camber but the golf was older than the lads doing it so that was done at 9am.

Next on today's list was paintwork.

Two and a half hours sanding the bonnet and the passenger wing, just need to do these bits to get me through till winter.

The rest is getting done next winter, back to bare metal.

Also popped out the rear window and took off the zender spoiler to fit the black window trim sticker for the more original look.

Cheers mate Pretty much what I was thinking but nice to have it confirmed.

I'd have been tempted to leave the bonnet in it's sanded condtion and just clear it. Looks cool.

But far better painted
