Do you have another stamped body coloured plate on the slam panel rivoted next to the vin plate. This tells you the day it was built when you decode it.
Nice find by the way. I had a mandarin orange driver back in 1996. Wish id kept it lol!

Quick update. After much deliberation, I decided to strip the car and rather than only painting the roof, I'd do the whole car.
As always a few unexpected areas of rust, the worst being the rear inner wheel well near the filler hole.
I'll post more pictures later as the car is almost now ready for paint.

Art first I wanted you to keep it original, but I guess you were right to takle the rot and make it 100% sound.
Will you be at the AGM with it?
If we put all the Mamndarin Orange ones together it will look like a field of sunflowers…

I really wanted to keep it original, but as it was getting stripped
Down, it became apparent that the car wouldn't have lasted many more years without serious attention to the rust
It's coming along a treat and is going to look superb when done.
Not sure if I'll make it down this year. It'll be tight but if I can I'll come down for the weekend. The car isn't far away now. Due to go to the mechanics to get it back up and running then back to the body shop
For final pieces of interior, bumpers and final polish
