Loving this mate, where did you get the parts stripped and plated and how much did it cost if you don't mind me asking?

Joe

I use a company in bham, near to my work place which is handy. I clean the parts 1st on the grinder, wire wheel, then they get put into acid cleaner (de ruster) then they are plated to colour. I normally spend £20 for a lunch box size (that might be mates rates, as I've been going there for a long time)

so time to refurb the wheels: …..spare 5th alloy

Dash in..

Original Stereo Plug…..normally gets cut out….

Front Bumper: new bumper, new lens & holders, new bolts and freshly power coated number plate bracket.

Abit of detailing in the boot - new galavanized washer bottle bracket ….(im not using that bottle in the pic)

Loads of waxoyl

Mud guards then fitted with new bolts & washers

New washer & nuts (greased over prevent rust) for the wiper arms:

New handle gaskets and seat runners:

Front grill close ups, (notice the galavanised bonnet lock)

Quick shot of the engine bay ……(this is much more cleaner now…..new washer bottle, hose clips etc - pics to come of this)

Due to a few running problems i have decided to remove the patrol tank and clean it out as well as clean out the lines, accumulator and fuel pump. whilst going this far, i decide to detail a few things ;)

Lock in wheel nut key:

My platers managed to lose the brake compensator spring, so i have a new one made up:

and then of course replated along with the battery holder & bolt

After all of that, abit of fine tune by brother (thanks bro) …….we were off to MOT, fingers crossed.

Quick run to the MOT …..see if i missed anything:

YAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY:lol: only one advisory - ball joint had slight play and cover ripped.

Wasn't as bad as i had ripped the cover off before the picture…

Brand new arches and a few finished touches…….nearly there…oh tax too!!!

Drove it to BMTR - as i had a slight exhaust blow, just needed it re worked - they loved the golf there:

Then it went to HI Tech Motorsports (k jet specialists) for a rolling roads tune:

Heres a Video for you all
