as soon as its painted its going in, ive gota send off my g/box soon to get it rebuilt so i cant put it in till thats done. im diying to get the engine in!!!

im guna start stripping the door car this weekend of its interior and dash and loom (great fun :roll: )

been going through my 20v wiring loom today and i have worked out what i need and what i could remove heres the list of what i need to keep.

i have removed the wiring for the following
coil on plug
mass air flow meter
ignition amplifier      
cam angle sensor
knock sensor's
oil pressure switch (as im using my 5 bar sender from my 16v)
reverse light switch
O2 sensor (as im using an innovate system)

this is just a starting point but it has made the wiring loom about half the size!!!!!

have you still got the mk4 shell n are those wheels still on it i need 1 plz looking good just wish i could get my head round a g40 loom let alone a 20vt  

sold the wheels the day i got it home!! and the shells gone now anyway sorry mate.

HI ya thanks for the info if you could give me a bit more info how you did powersteering id be greatfull . remember im coming over from the dark side been doing vw beetles for years so the golfs are a new thing for me but the more i get into it the more im enjoying it. Im very impressed with this site . p.s i like the golf in the darker colour seems to have more class but i bet you go for the red . Baza

well its been a while!!!!
i got my engine trial fitted tonight, the mount i bought from the caddy forum fits a treat,, guna trial fit my intercooler and pipework tomorrow. will get some pics up 4 ya all tomoz night :wink:

here's the pics as promised!! i had to remove some of the slam panel support so i could get the intercooler to fit where i wanted it but it fits nice and snug infront of the radiator, The oil cooler is going behind the mesh in the bumper. this is only a mock fit just so i know where eveything is going after the paintwork is done but it looks good i must say!!!!


this is the dump valve behind the wing vent on the drivers side

OH YES!!!!!! its being painted in2 weeks, between xmas and new year!!!! then it can go in and stay in!!!!!! and i can start swaping bits over from the other car.

Nice conversion! Is that a Range Rover wing vent?
