Newbie asking for opinions

hi guys and gals im currently planning on converting my mk1 karmann cabriolet to a 500hp show car, im looking for opinions on looks and options im putting a mk4 20v turbo in with a gt35 t3 turbo with all sorts of internal upgrades soon i'll be advertising a kidney to fund it but with luck I want to achieve it on a budget just really to prove it can be done, if it can be done. Im hoping to do a lot myself but with the mk1's families help we can achieve my goal. so any ideas or links to people who can provide a good service is appreciated my email is tonyzzr1400@hotmail.co.uk

I've no idea how you go about doing it but good luck with this project, I'll follow this with great interest!  

Do start a special project post for it and keep us all updated as you go with photos and comments on how you're getting on.  

 Are you going 4x4 to get all that power down to the road? 

The guy in Germany that has one with 1,100bhp and holds the world record for the fastest VW I believe was only two wheel drive.

But it was only built to go in a straight line and break records and not to go round corners!

Take a look at others projects too, maybe get some inspiration & ideas.
There's the google site search facility on here located in the left hand side of the page. Google away and I'm sure you'll pull up all sorts of stuff from that.
