New interior fitted (sorry rubbish pics)… well chuffed with it. Although they arent the same as before they are original series1 and i think they suit the car better :)

Also got my first panel for the restoration. Luckily stubbled across this on ebay and had to snatch it up as my rear slam panel has rotten and these are getting mega hard to get hold of.

It turned up today and is actually in better condition than it appears in this pic so happy.

Also got the lower rear valance and rear corners on order from VWheritage.

So this year i will be mainly sourcing body panels then im going to put it in for the resto next winter!!

Ive got a year or so to make some big decisions  ;)

Looking awesome. Great car.

Just out of interest, when buying new body panels, will you be buying new or used?

Its a daft question but I know some enthusiasts like the whole car true through and through.

I need to purchase some new panels for my s1, but unsure when to go for them.

i am sourcing panels however possible. some are harder to come by than others as you can imagine with a 35 year old car. Panels like the one above i dont think you can get new. (correct me if im wrong).

Also doors im finding almost impossible to find 'mint' S1 doors. Looks like im going to have to buy S2 doors and use them to reskin mine or change the hinges over.

Stuff like sills, rear lower valance. corner repairs etc im getting from vwheritage/crazyquiffs.

Then other parts like the pillars near the windscreen the guys doing the restoration are going to cut out any bad bits and refabricate.
