My Yellow 78 Series 1 - Restoration started 05/14

Beaut! Alley cats sound good. If you decide to go the ats classics route, I have a set for sale if you are interested. 

Wheels, drop and just keep it clean and original (ish), sounds good to me

so just bought the first parts:

All new top mounts & suspensions bushes & bolts ready for the new coilovers.

Also got a chin spoiler for the front.

Think im going with AP coilovers after doing a bit of research. looks as though its best to avoid pro sport / jom etc (read bad reviews)…
AP, FK & APEX seem to be the next range up from the budget stuff and unfortunatly i cant afford the KW / Weitec.
If anyone has any good advice on coilovers please share but im fairly confident AP is a good choice…

I have fk's on my mk1, had them since 2005! Still going strong.

My mate had a set of ap's on his mk4 and I was impressed with the build quality and the ride.

If I had to buy a set for that money I would go for the ap's.

Interior pictures for the chap that wanted to see Does anyone know if theres anywhere in th UK that still stocks this brown/tan material?? Would love to keep the interior original if possible…

Went for AP ccoilovers and spunked up for some bbs RM

Oh and going to have a go at making some 'postie style' rear lights.

Cheers mate, after couple shows were going to in june i will be replacing the tyres as not keen on massive tyre walls and hopefully getting the RM's polished up professionally. I had a go at them with autosol yesterday and they come up quite nicely but need them gleeming!!

I think a decent refurb of them will set you back a few hundred mate but deffo worth it. Nothing worse than minging wheels

I agree mate. Definatly worth getting them done properly, may get slightly bigger lips for the rears too. still to decide, have to see how they sit saturday

Really chuffed with the outcome, completely transformed the car.

And AP coilovers are the mutts nuts!! really easy to install, adjust and a perfect ride!!
