Chris I was almost looking to buy a new one the weekend,I was doing a clutch for my next door neighbour she has a mx5 59 plate she ist in her late 70s and she losing it anyway cut a long story,me and her other half was pushing the car around to mine while she was steering I ask her to put the car on the top of my drive as my drive as a slope, she did Not brake and my sportline was out and she was not stoping so I run in front of the car shouting stop.she ended up smashing into my fence smashing the concrete post and two fence panels.it was only a few feet away from my sportline it would have been a total loss.the mazda now needs clutch, wing, bonnet ,front bumper now I need to fix the fence and the hole car.
Can u imagine if she had hit it would have been a goner !!!!
Lucky it's only the fence but still a nightmare.
Nightmare :-(

Looks fantastic already, do you still think it needs paint? The sebrings look great, I really rate them on a cabby!!
Cheers a lot
The Bootlid has rusty corners, there is rust on the drivers side rear quarter from a wee ding and both bumpers need painted as well.
Its had a wee front bump, so the lower panel needs pulled out an inch, that's why the front number plate holder is missing and the front bumper paint has crackled.
There old cars and rarely are undamaged, so hopefully just those bits painted and a full machine polish should sort out the outside, fingers crossed !!

Chris you really are crazy! I think Macca's comment about two of everything has been taken too far! So is the BM sleeping under open skies? Maybe you know a scaffolder who can knock you up a temporary car port. If you were that desperate for an engine bay detailing project I could have brought you my one. Yes I will be busy with it before Glamis - work permitting. Nice idea having a set of Sportlines - you thinking about the Rivage now? Watch out DAL.
M3 is outside from now on :-(
Yes I am daft but I like to keep busy :-)

Another 4 hrs on it cleaning the inside if the Bootlid, inside the boot and the rear seat area. Its all pretty good tbh, ripped out about a million boot install cables that were lurking beneath the carpets, no wonder the carpet trims get knackered.
Going to put done rust inhibitor on the edge if the rear window frame as it had a touch of surface rust.

So just ordered a full set of outer window scrapers, full jack/toolkit, 2 door light switch rubber gaskets, 2 strut top caps and a proper Sportline locking petrol cap with flap.
Also just about to buy a Euro spec Sportline steering wheel as well.
Think that's enough to get going.
Waiting on Mark aka funk to get back to me with my list of items needed.
Oh and my full owners pack, exhaust manifold gasket, spark plugs, dizzy cap, rotor arm, thermostat and rocker cover gasket arrived.
Already have the oil and filter for the service.
Also took off the wrong GOLF rear badge and I have got the correct GOLFGTI badge coming, just going to spray it black as I like the rear badges black on the black car.

You don't do things by half do you, Chris? The parts list just gets bigger
I know and that's me chilling out for things needed for the engine bay refurb.
I need it serviced and mechanically sound first, then off to the body shop for a quote.
So onwards and upwards :-)

Got rear bench release strap, manual drivers and passengers window mechanisms with winders, jack/toolkit rubber hold on strap, carpet clip, rear GOLFGTI badge, seat runner clip, blanks for centre console where electric window switches are, orange side indicator all coming from funk-star.
I will do the mini service without the oil change on Saturday.
I'm using my friendly garage for the exhaust manifold gasket etc later when I've checked the car over properly.

Just need to chill now until I find out about the manifold and screeching starter or whatever it is, get them sorted and car serviced with timing belt, then I can start thinking about bodywork.
I remember telling u that I was going to take my time, I'm struggling already
Just remember Chris - Rome wasn't built in a day :-)
Or was it ……………
