Had been humming and hawing about getting a mk1 for long enough that it was eventually time to take the plunge and go find one. So after nearly buying an ambitious project off ebay, a wee look around the net and eventually found one within budget that ticked all the boxes that needed to be ticked.

Car had been owned and restored by a fellow member on here (pidtodd) for 10 years, but had to sell up so along I came and snapped it up :)

Car still has the original 1.6 in it, and is on koni adjustable suspension with ronal ls1 wheels which finish it off just nicely :)

a few rushed pics…. typical scottish weather haha.

first on the agenda is to give a good clean before putting it away for the winter. Needs a couple wee bits here and there but nothing major

comments welcome :)

managed to get the fuel gauge working.... needed a new fuel sender unit, managed to get the boot shutting as it wasnt shutting right, rear window washer wired in, and the dash and clocks stripped out ready for a new milometer gear to be fitted to the clocks

not been on in a while but making a bit of progress

discovered a couple of holes in the dash, so out with the old and in with new, while it was out managed to run wires for speakers as it didn't have any in, ran the ariel for the radio, then refitted the dash. Got a new set of clocks fitted as the milometer on the original set wasn't working, and got a set of south african style rear lights fitted to it.

and the interior as it sits:

tomorrow will hopefully see the interior into a better state of affairs and sort the current fuel leak that it has :(

Where did you fit the aerial? Is it stashed behind the dash or something?
