Mk1 golf gti, 2L 16v, OZ turbo's. R1 Carbs

"Will smooth it off before retexturing so it'll look like a deep 1 piece splitter"

How did you re-apply the texture?

Nice work BTW.

Current MK1 rebuild elapsed time - 15 years and counting…
Is it normal to clean and paint bits of your car that will never be seen?
Not-so-new addition - 1996 MK1 Citi Golf (off the road for 4 years… and counting)

I'll be in the clubstand area if you want to view them

Update time for those interested

Collected new wheels last weekend after the Gti international show. Compomotive TH mono's 8Jx15in et25. Approx 6 months use so pretty much near mint.
I stripped the tyres off at work the following day

I do have the centre caps too

Yesterday, i collected another set of wheels
Ronal LS's 7.5Jx15in et25. These need a refurb.

Not everyone's cup of tea but who cares, these are being wrapped in Federal RSR's(ordered) for possible track days and my annual nurburgring trips!

Thought i'd try 1 on for size

Tried a TH mono on while i was at it

Today, i went to the stanford hall show where i made arrangements to collect a red stripe interior off sphmk1 on here

Only need the rear bench tbh as i plan to collect my wife and our first child from the hopital in the golf  :) . Only 2 weeks til due day  8O
I knew they was'nt going to be in the best of conditions for the price so i stripped the front seats down of the red stripe material so i can possibly retrim something at a later date. The frames are already in the car ready to be put in the scrap bin at work.

Also came across 2x brand new yokohama A520's at the show. A cheeky haggle and a bargain was had   . Just need 2 more for the monos now.

Not updated for a while as i've been busy with the birth of my little boy and having numerous visitors

Here he is, just over 6 weeks old at edition38 show

Anyway, ive finally got the ronals painted. Metalic black with matt lacquar.
Tyres are 195/50/15 federal RSR's

Fitted them today

Sadly my favourite back road has been resurfaced so i have'nt tested them out. Feels great driving around at low speeds though

I did raise the front to match the rear but still had some scrubbing. This will be resolved over the winter months though, along with a few other choice upgrades!

Cant wait for the next trip to nurburgring and a few track days next year

With April only round the corner(the month i usually tax the car), i thought i'd fire up the beast and clean the dust off

Little wash

Had a cheeky little spin too. My god its weird having been used to driving my T4 daily lol but i like it  excited

Should think it'll be MOT time soon so once ive got a fresh ticket, i'll crack on with a few mods  ;)

Should be fine with 7's mate. I raised the car when I fitted the track tyres that its on now. It'll be dropped back down again once I've played with the front arches

just a few bits of storage damage over the years need some attention, will drop you a line when the car is back on the road and pop up then.

Update

Taxed my golf for the summer so she's now back out to play  :)

Put a fresh MOT on it yesterday too

Had to take some pic's for my agreed valuation with insurance so I spent yesterday afternoon cleaning.

I also fitted my new crosshair headlights and my black powder coated eibach strutbrace.
