Finally bolted the alternator bracket on. Looks like it will be a tight fit. Will have to get the radiator as far forward as possible. The Mocal oil cooler will go in front of alternator so should be OK.

Sorry for the delay in content guys.

Busy sorting out my mini last weekend. I recently bought a cooper s for the school commute, its first generation with 50k on the clock. I wasn't sure about a sound I could hear so wanted to give it a good inspection, changed the supercharger oil, water pump and pulleys / drive belt.

Boy this is a tight engine to work on. Nice its a modular design though :DRadiator comes off in one panel:

Bumper off, impact bar and supercharger

This is what i was left with :o No problems with the supercharger, oil was nice and clear when removed and had plenty in there, changed it anyway.

The idler pulley and tensioner were ok and water pump. Had new ones to go in.

In the end found the culprit, it was the power steering pump fan.

The bearing in the spal fan was super stiff. No wonder it sounded like a cement mixer ha ha

Its in a position under the engine which gets filthy O_oUsed one off ebay and bobs your uncle no more sound.

I've got some stuff to finish off on the gearbox tomorrow, I tried to remove the 5th gear end plate currently on the gearbox but unfortunately it's captive and needs the engine lowered on the transmission mount to remove. No problem as I have a spare 5th gear end plate I've painted up. Can switch it over :DIt was a little rusty so gave it a quick sand down.

Then a dip in Bilt Hamber Deox C

Not as much done today as I wanted.

The front and back engine mounts were a bit tricky to align, the engine was up and down like a yo yo as discovered the bolts used for the transmission mount couldn't position with the side mounts in place. All sorted and aligned now :thumbs:I had the end plate off the gearbox to tighten the 5th gear bolts and selector. I had swapped over the 5th gear from a CTN diesel box. Then fitted the refurbished plate with a new seal and bolts.

Attached the driveshafts and steering column :)Good days work:lol: gallery_23668_521_46755.jpg gallery_23668_521_66207.jpg gallery_23668_521_88421.jpg gallery_23668_521_179533.jpg gallery_23668_521_186948.jpg gallery_23668_521_200240.jpg

Got side tracked again :lol:Helped a friend with their Aston Martin DB6. Had a few holes in the boot, properly tricky to get to. One at the back and one and the front.

Sorry for no update in a while guys.

Decided to move house so spent several weekends doing up and clearing out the clutter in the house.

The poor garage has taken the brunt and slowly filling up :O

I have a property in mind which unfortunately doesn't have a double garage but has massive potential to create a custom one ;), maybe a build a garage build lol

So the Golf is on hold for a while, I will try to sneak in some updates in the next few weeks. I can fit the exhaust and shifter which will mean less things to transport to new place :D

There are too many online users to list.
