Well here we go couldnt wait for the MOT to be up on Spawn to start restoring so went and got another so I can enjoy the best of both:lol:Still waiting on Spawns timing belt and tensioner to arrive then its garage swap time!
Whats left of the engine is coming out and the nasty auto box, and as pretty much everything will be off it I reckon im going to get carried away and attempt to strip the underneath and full new respray and then underseal!
Suggestions for colour at this stage welcomed as I have painters block:lol:Didnt arrive till half 9 tonight so will get some better picks up tomorrow:thumbs: C:\fakepath\20140211_214327.jpg

Thanks Matt, Still havent pulled the little Spaz out since getting him! :lol:I think i have made a choice on the colour after seeing this.. $_12.jpg $_12bhcbdb.jpg  Just have to get Spawn and the Passat daily sorted first so i can get her in the workshop and stripped ready to work out what the new power source will be and how it's going in!
It has also just dawned on me the fitting of the colour to what's going under the bonnet :lol:http://vwgolfmk1.org.uk/forum/index.php?page=topicview&id=chat%2Fmk1-golf-chat_2%2Ffuture-proof-mk1
Will be pulling it out tomorrow if the weather is good so will take some more pic's!

Right then well… What a lovely day! Rolled Spaz out for the first time since getting him and i must say i was happy with what i found!
Gave him a bit of a clean inside and checked round the usual areas for rust or signs of filler and all seems well!
Whilst emptying him of spare parts the guy had included with him and found one of the boot lid's had the black plastic number plate trim and holder so cleaned and fitted that to Spawn straight away:lol:After cleaning Spaz up a bit the sky turned grey so i figured time to pack him back away, but then remembered a couple of weeks ago when i was going to attempt todays effort, I opened the garage door and looked under the front and swore i spotted a new ish looking brake caliper!
So a quick choking of the wheels and whipped the front wheel off to find a brand new looking caliper with brand new pads in and new vented discs!
While doing this i looked up and saw new Red springs and the shocks looked good too!:o This was too cool! but it didnt end there!
After removing the new caliper to use on Spawn i noticed the sticker on the inside of the front wing, The bloomin wings are new!:o:cool:So here are a few pic's of him from today and with the borrowed brakes for Spawn and an overhaul of Spawns Carb on the cards for tomorrow to try and make the Thursday's NW meet He should be going in the workshop this week for full stripping! 20140309_123442.jpg 20140309_141936.jpg 20140309_142119.jpg 20140309_142056.jpg And here is Spawn with new trim:thumbs: 20140309_171042.jpg
