It was the perfect day. The car didn't break down until I was reversing it into the garage when I git home lol.
Doing a few minor changes to it now. All the Chrome is coming off. Going for something different. Something I've not seen before

With the bad luck you've had with the car recently maybe the groom was hoping it would breakdown again!
Infact its not he's shut the door twice, he's actually trying to get back in!:twisted:
BTW where's your tax disc?!
You say your going for something different?? Just bear in mind Germany is only just over a month away! 8O

I hope I get my charger before the Germany trip! The changing of the Chrome shouldn't be a problem.
As for the tax disk, I made my own and a special bracket to mount it on the dash but when the mechanic removed the dash, he snapped the bracket off and lost it. I haven't gotten round to making a new one yet.
Same with the front number plate. I took it of for Stonor park and when I went to put it back on for the journey home, I snapped that too! Doh! All on the to do list ready for Germany.

there goes my plan of nicking it !

you don't want to nick it Steve! you already have one!
you dont need the hassle of 2 g60s haha.
got my charger back from jabbasport during the week. i highly recommend them. they were so friendly and helpfull.
not fitted it yet.
they said it was the top shaft bolt pin that had snapped and i was really lucky it didnt do more damage.
glad pulled it over asap and didn't drive home!
i will be fitting it this weekend as well as spraying a few bits and bobs. cant wait to drive it again.
hopefully get it all sorted for the germany trip and then all cleaned up for edition38 the weekend after!
busy busy busy all the time

well i got the new wheels on just in time for edition38.
needs to go lower though i think. as always!
anyway, more pics;
rubbed the bare polished metal down as they were scratched, curbed and pitted
primed up
sprayed
wheel adaptors custom made at g23 engineering. 40&50mm thick!
4 brand new toyo tyres fitted
a bit of polishing and detailing in the engine bay
wing badges on
and there we have it, just needs one more drop

I think the wheels are rubbish, and you should put the other ones back on…
That way you can sell me the wintercults, and i will be a very happy chappy!!
On a serious note, saw the car at edition and it looked spot on, really impressive, with so many small details that most would not notice. A little lower, as you said and done.

@ bouchay, thanks mate. Nearly there! This car has given me a few grey hairs.
@ smokeybubbles, thanks. I'm glad you noticed the little bits. There were so many amazing cars there that it is easy to overlook them. I know i'm guilty of doing this!
@ jellybelly, thanks for your honesty. I appreciate constructive criticism. They are definatly a love/hate type of wheel. Personally, I love them. Just nice to see something different I think.
I lowered the car today. Looks soo much better I think. Definatly the best wheels for brake clearance I've had so far.
I'll POP up some pics soon

just a few recent pics of the mk1 since i lowered it;
i recently bought a set of strut top caps from a member on here. after some thing going wrong with the posting and 3 sets being sent out i finally got a set and fitted them. only for one to fall off on the motorway. so i decided it would be easier to just make myself a set than hassle the chap for another set. they are a bit cheesy but they look better than the strut top i recon. what do you think?;
and one final pic of my cars and my mates jetta all lined up;

Love the carbon details mate. Awesome build - a credit to your hard graft.
