golf1980's 1980 golf driver G60
I think it's an all or nothing job if you decide to go back but I love the car the way it is.
Have you even still got all the original parts?

So far I've got nos plastic arch trims, black 8 piece waste line trim and black plastic rear number plate panel. I need to get some good plastic bumpers but for now I've bought some satin black vinyl wrap to go over the chrome bumpers. I've also bought some other bits from Mark Carter so it's all coming together now

Next time I'm in the loft I'll dig out a photo of it and post it up - I'm sure I have one.
Did your new head come with a cam? If so do you want to sell it? Is it a PG head?

This is the only other s1 driver I've seen;
http://vwgolfmk1.org.uk/forum/index.php?page=topicview&id=your-mk1-golfs_2%2Fmy-mandarin-orange-mk1&kfs79=30
And yes it's a PG head and I do have a spare cam if you want it? You're local to me aren't you?

Yes I remember seeing that one but it has series 2 seats in it not the dog tooth ones. Its not far off though.
I'm trying to find VW cam specs to see what the differences are. I've got a mk2 syncro that needs a cam. It seems the PB or EV engine cam is the one to put in to liven the GU up a bit but I wondered what the lifts were on a charged motor. I know super chargers don't like lots of overlap. I'll check out vag cat tomorrow to see what part numbers are to see if the PG is different.
I'm in Bloxham btw

- 1999 Passat Wagon. Needs street cred but at least it's a manual.

Some good stuff happened today. I picked up my big valve head from Dave Crissel today and it is a work of art!! I only got a couple of pics. It's hard to take good pics of cylinder heads. It's all reflections and stuff. I'll post what I've got and I'll grab some better pics when it comes to rebuilding the engine. I've decided to do it myself as I've had enough with specialists charging through the roof for shoddy workmanship.

I would just like the say thanks. I have always loved my car, the way it looks and the stance with my wheels and so on but then I saw your thread and all the work you have done. Now I hate my car and can't even look at it because it's not the same as yours so once again thank you for that.
Yours now disappointedley, Sean. Lol

Sorry about that Sean. Lol
I must say though, I've seen your car and I don't know what you're talking about. It's awesome! Keep at it until you're happy with it. I haven't managed to do that with mine yet so I know the feeling mate

You can't fit much bigger valves than them. What size are they?
I can't remember. I'll have to find out and post them here so I can refer back. I've been asked a few times now so I need to know really! I'll let you know
