mot past i needed to collect some fence panels
then i was suffering from condensation in the car
the speaker holes had gone through the membrane so i replace these with some stuff my dad had knocking around in his garage
before
during
after
condensation gone!!!!
then time to mix the fuel
30% diesel should be alright in this weather
then in the motor
some people mix there oil in the tank, which 9 time out of 10 works fine
thing is oil is heavier than diesel so if mixed separate then the oil sinks and diesel on top, this takes a lot of mixing in the tank but once mixed doesn't settle out again. So it's better to mix before tank
i've been reading up but either way is fine
not bad at £1 a litre

What did you clean your carpets with as they came up great. Hopefully im not too far away from refitting mine, if i can remember where all the small bits around under the dash go.
Maybe if everything goes as planned i might even get her out on the road and make a show or two at the end of the season.
First Golf, lots of work. I've started so I'll finish!

we started by matt- bringing the engine up and i got it ready in the shed
flywheel off as it a 02A
took all the passat flanges of ready for the mk1 to be fitted
can belt cover off, locking pin in the diesel pump to stop it moving
right as i didn't want to alter the pump by removing you can just trim the bracket down in situ and bolt a petrol mount over the top
after a bit of triming and chopping
belt back on and timed up
on these water cooled turbo engine they have this little water pump to allow the flow to the turbo, you dont need this just let it flow around the turbo. it might take alittle longer to warm up but it dont bother me
so with that gone the metal water pipe had a bit bracket that wasn't need so that got chopped off and cleaned up
next up orginal engine out
sat round the back of my house on a sack barrow
next up the TD engine came out the shed
then the AAZ 1.9 clutch and flywheel was purchased off ebay should handle the extra power
then i decided to go with a 4T gearbox, this has nice long gears so should be nice for crushing hopefully
So with a free weekend and reasonable weather the engine went in with the gearbox
sorry no inbetween pictures
the fuel filter needed to be mount elsewhere so made alittle bracket till i decide somewhere better to put it
oh and a proper chav init cone filter
make a downpipe still using the c clamps, just need to alter one of the linkage bars
little video of it running
other than the linkage bar it's about done
from a 1.6 n/a 4spd to a 1.6 Turbo 5spd hopefully the change will be mind blowing
enjoy!!!

You sorted the linkage out yet?
Cannot wait to see this going about.
Still need to sort out the door card colour.
If I pop over to pick them bits up, I can take a card and get it matched.
Cheers

Is the cone filter quiet or giving a bit of noisy induction?
