Just to help other people out with the flywheel removal. I got some washing line cord (steel wire with a plastic coating).
I made a loop and attached a bolt to a gearbox mount. I then put the loop over the bolt and through the teeth on the flywheel. Had no problem removing it like that.

Thanks buddy, I was rubbing my head thinking what I had to hand. I thought my impact driver would be a bit savage for the job.

Does anyone know if I need any more mounts than the 3 I have bought from retrofication? I have a small block chassis but do have all the mounts from my old GTI.
Also what rubber bushes will I need?
Cheers

Hey Rich, I'm just starting a 20v project as well. Race ya!
I would also be interested in the recommended rubber mounts to use.
Are you planning on adding power steering?

Ok guys, I'm looking for a big front brake kit. I have 6.5inch BBS Rm's.
I guess 256mm would be safe, not sure about clearance with 280's.
Can anyone recommend a good set and where to get them from?. I have seen some Willwood 4 pot set-ups for around £550.
Cheers

I went with the Wilwood 256mm kit mate which should fit under all 15's and even some 14's depending on size.
Paid £500 for mine and although i haven't used mine in anger yet I haven't heard a bad word from anyone who has.
What sort of budget have you got?

They're very well thought of from all the research i did when i bought mine. The next step up is the 280mm kit details of which can be found HERE.
Can't see why the 256mm kit wouldn't be sufficient for the MK1 in all honesty though.

I think I will go for the Willwoods, had my eye on them in the first place. Thanks for the advice.
One thing I was unsure about, in the advert it says:
please state when ordering 76mm or 94mm lug centers?
