Everything is finished now so the MOT is booked for tomorrow. Never been so nervous !

Dashboard electrics played up this week,when lights went on with ignition everything went out, wasn't the wire to the rocker cover, so tried to take the clocks out struggled to release the speedo cable and ran out of time. Put it all back together and everything worked. Keeping fingers crossed that it does not happen again tomorrow.

Only bits we haven't been able to check is the emissions plus brake balance/efficiency but everything feels okay. Looking forward to the first drive to the Garage tomorrow, hopefully feel the same about the journey back.

Good luck for tomorrow Rich - despite the nerves I bet you'll still be grinning driving it to the MOT - and hopefully grinning even more on the way back!

It's passed first time !! only one advisory for very slight play in rear wheel bearing

just took it for a good 20 mile run and all seems fine.  Exhaust catches a bit, but always did - might get a handmade stainless one for it in due course, plus the new wheels need a bit of a balance.  Will wait for everything to settle down for a few weeks and then start to tackle a few jobs.

Firstly a massive thanks to Ross Irvine (mobile mechanic) who has done a superb job getting all the bigger jobs done. But also to all of you who have posted comments - could not have got this far without all your help and encouragement.

Excellent news! Now go enjoy it

Great news for you,great looking and love it on those wheels,quick question what colour is your washer bottle in the engine bay mine is blue but been told it might be wrong one and should be clear ?

Mines almost white, guess you could call it clear but certainly not transparent. Same as the rear wash bottle.

Another 60 miles added this afternoon' can't quite believe how many people stare at it when it goes by.  Took it over to show my Mum today, parked it on her drive and went inside, two mins later door bell rang and a nice couple were asking if they could take some pictures of it! Said their son was restoring a Cabby down in Cornwall and also had an Inari Green VW Derby he had restored.

Nice one Rich!    It must feel great to be driving it and to get attention in it already.

How many tanks of fuel will you get through this weekend?
