Bowlerdubs 78 Mk1

So heres my little 5 door 1978 Mk1 called Felicity. Im new to posting on the forum but hopefully you'll enjoy the progress regardless how long it takes.

It's a bit rough and ready and since having the old girl it hasn't gone great. First off ended up into the back of someone else which was unlucky but not to much damage.

However after fixing that the little 1.5d engine decided to blow its top and melt a piston ring into itself. Not ideal. So now looking for a 1.6GTD or the 1.9TDI if anyone could hook me up? Hopefully once this is sorted the progress pictures will come a flowing.

Build plan, Go though and patch up the big rust points, normal stuff like sills, spare wheel and floor plans need attention. Then a set of nice wheels with some handling improvments will be on the list. Next interior, then finally might look at the outside. But to be honest I dont mind it being a little rough and ready around the edges.

I think I'd replace the engine, cover the whole thing in Lacquer and be done with it. Looks superb, a real 'Barn Find'.
