Hey all!

I'm back after a long period of time after getting distracted by fast Honda's, then fast Audi's, now fast Volvo's and the odd Porsche.

I spotted this and decided to pounce - If I don't do it now they'll be no half-decent project bases left. It is stunningly original throughout with zero mods and the interior in particuar looks to be in wonderful shape.

The guy I bought it off had owned it for nearly 30 years it's been unused for the last 20. It turns over ok and oil pressure is good but won't run so the garage is hunting down what the fault could be, starting with a new fuel pump. It's had 3 pwners in total and a load of old history.

First job is to get it running and in for an MOT. I have also made a list of tasks so far that need doing, more will follow as I find out more about it from the garage next week!

1. Rebuild seized K Jetronic system
2. Service, cambelt, water pump, coolant, transmission and brake fluid
3. Inspect cooling system - Hoses and radiator renewed if needed
4. Upgraded front brakes - Racier pads and new discs plus braided hoses
5. Throughly inspect all suspension, drivetrain & steering rubber components and change key bushes
6. Replace window scrapers
7. Fix boot catch
8. Restore front grill surround
9. Upgrade lighting system to LED's (hidden)
10. Refurbished wheels and new tyres
11. New audio and immoboliser
12. Inspect rear braking system and handbrake
13. Gearshift linkages have been renewed previously but re-check
14. Prepare car for full respray including new front wings, front apron repair and minor A pillar repair
15. New exhaust system
16. Check shock absorbers and steering components
17. New ignition leads, distributer cap and rotor arm
18. New rocker cover gasket
19. Treat, underseal and / or paint / powder coat cam belt and rocker cover plus various detailing
20. New side and tailgate decals as well as A pillar plastic covers. Try and restore rear bumper and wheel arch finishes
21. Drive and enjoy!

So good to see originality with correct wheels, grill etc. Getting rare now where they have not been corrupted!

I see in your list of jobs you have said "power coat the rocker cover" I would avoid doing this as if they sand blast the rocker cover to clean it, you can get grit in the metal gauze which can drop or get sucked into the engine. I've seen it happen and scored bores in the engine block is not an easy fix.

Great looking original car and look like it's going to keep you busy.
