also the company that fitted them (designer dubs) drilled out the the hub mountings for them to fit. cf_emoticons__BangHead:cf_emoticons__BangHead:so i stripped them back and decided to fit the vauxhall 280mm setup, this way instead of using shoulder bolts, i could just tap the thread to m12
the carrier mounting bolts were soo loose i just pulled the bolts out by hand pics
what a simple swap, its crazy how it all fits together.. straight off a calibra turbo, until i went to put my wheel back on that is
FAIL!
not sure which direction to take right now, thinking to get 280mm brackets again and open up the bracket holes or sell this conversion with the hubs and start again with an audi 256 setup

Will 256 be the easiest option?

That sucks mate, sounds like you had your work cut out there.

nope, easiest option will be to drill out my calipers to m12 and go back to 239s

Damn George !!…. NIce to know you still got the motor and still tinkering with it…can't remember when it was the last time I saw her and be good to catch up when it's done.
thanks mate,
probably about 5 years ago, i drove it a few times after the 16v carb conversion in 2012 locally but havent taken it to any shows for years. Rims are still mint, havent polished them yet lol

managed to locate some new hubs, prepped them and painted them, just waiting for them to dry, pretty chuffed they came with solid backplates as i never had any but slightly annoying the opening for the ball joints appear to be for 15mm so have to buy new ball joints.cf_emoticons__BangHead:still on the hunt for the audi 256 setup if anyone has any message me please

I ran the same calipers on my blue mk1 over 15's without a problem.
P.S. I think I bought a flywheel and starter motor from you years back

the vauxhall 280mm setup i bought for the sake of it ages ago so thought id put it on to get me through the mot as a temp thing as my calipers were comming loose off the hubs due to worn threads.
they were catching on the bolts of the split rims on the inside of the wheels and spacing them out would make the tyres catch on the arches
lol everyone buying things off me
