Hello All,

Well this is my one of my first german cars so nothing i'm used to I'm much more into my French cars and have a little collection going but this is a new project for me.
I bought this Cabby as a bit of an impulse buy and i couldn't turn it down for the money and what was included in terms of parts, but it is no where near finished.

It was last on the road 4 years ago upon which it had a full respray and then has not been reassembled and has sat since. it had a new hood also before it was sat up.
anyway here are some pics Will be needing a lot of help hopefully from here in terms of the wiring etc,

Thanks Mike,

The plans are to dry out the inside!! then to paint the interior Hammerite black, remove the dash and sort the wiring as it has a horrible clifford alarm, and the loom is all nasty, so wondering if a new one can be bought? along with a Carpet set (seen some on ebay)

I'm having some issues with the electric hood (having to go direct to the motor with powerprobe) but it doesn't seem to engage and occaisionally picks up and opens the roof (slowly) does it need a top up with fluid? what does it take hyd fluid?

Excellent project. Where abouts are you in Devon? My cabby is stored in Tavistock for most of the year so might be able to help you out with some parts etc.

Welcome along mate.

Looks like a good project. the biggest difference between French and German is the weight of stuff I reckon. Golfs aren't generally built of recylced baked bean cans    I remember an old Citroen AX I had for a week. I dented it by leaning on the wing.

When it's complete you'll have to pop down to the Cornish Region and join is in some meets
