Hi. 
I've joined the forum as I'm on the lookout for a mk1. I've had dozens of VWs over the years but always fancied a mk1 golf. 
Having just sold my VR6 Corrado and my T4 I'm finally in a position to start seriously looking. 
I quite fancy building my own 1,8T, I appreciate it's been done a million times but I always have a bit of a project on the go. 
I'll no doubt be back in touch searching for parts and knowledge if the right car comes up.

Welcome r5cpk, yes the 20v Turbo has been done a few times so plenty of info out there and now some parts ready made for the conversion.

Are you looking for a tin top or cabriolet?

Tin tops rust badly and getting expensive, cabriolets don't seem to suffer so badly from rust and plenty about.

Ideally I'm looking for a 3 door tin top, non sunroof. I recently missed out on one as I couldn't raise enough money without selling something else. Prices have gone a bit mad, same as everything I suppose.

Prices have definitely change in the last few years, but there are still some bargains about to be had, just keep your eye out!
