New to the VW thing

The fiance recently realised her child hood dream of owning a MK1 Cabby, she managed to get hold of a '85 MK1 GTI Cabrio 'white edition'…. Since she has had it ive totally fell in love with the thing. Being 31 I have never driven an old car. Total new driving pleasure and has made me love driving again.
Anyway was also wondering what type of oil people used in theirs?
