Bonnet Stuck shut.

Hi all, i'm new to the site. Please can anyone assist. My bonnet won't open. Cable seems to be attached. Even with grill removed i don't seem to be getting anywhere. I,ve sprayed the bonnet catch with WD40 but do you have any other idears please. I need to get it open asap.  I don't really know what i'm looking for. Thanks. It's a MK1 Cabriolet.

That's odd because with the grill off you should be able to get your fingers up there and release it.  :(

So I'm giving this post a bump because I'm sure someone will have a better idea then me!  :thumbs:

Maybe time to get flat bladed screwdriver give it a hammer to loosen. Like mentioned earlier normally comes free. With fingers.

i assume your grille was off before you had this issue… O_o you should be able to see, easy enough, where the cable goes into the 'catch' & move it/push it to the right as the catch is spring loaded… perhaps a slight downward pressure on your bonnet when you do it.. :thumbs:

sometimes pressing down on the bonnet as you pull the release works.
