Hi all. Just joined the forum as I have finally made the purchase of a h plate gti convertible in ink blue. 

Need a good tidy up and a few new parts. Will probably be back on here for advice when I get on it.

To start with I'm looking for a new tailgate and an electric window motor and kit for the front passenger side. If anyone has any would be grateful of contact and info.

Evening all.

Not been on for a while due to work.

Have had most of the mechanical work done now so car is running nicely.

Just starting to look into the body work issues. Main ones are bonnet its some peeling lacquer and tailgate with a reus patch to sort out.

Having some issues with the colour though. Sticker in book says its ink blue LK5T but it does not appear to be. I am told its Helios blue LA5Y.
I had a paint shop mix me up some Helios but it seems to come out darker.
car seems to have more of a purple tint to it than the Helios blue That I have had mixed up.

I have read some sites that say there are a couple of different shades of Helios blue.

Anyone know now of a colour code for a more purple shade of Helios blue or had this same issue.
