My Mk1 and Me

Post

Hi all, I'm Alex.

I've just gone and bought a Mk1 1988 Cabriolet called Hope  (pictures to come when she's cleaned up) with my best friend. We've been toying with the idea for a few years now and finally taken the plunge. She runs beautifully and still has her original paint. Over the last few years I've owned a couple of V dubs and Hope is definitely my most exciting addition.

My friend and I are hoping to completely renovate her over time and its great to have so much information on these forums so I'll definitely be asking some questions along the way.

Nice to meet you all!

The interior is a bit worn from use over the years so that will probably be one of the first things to get a new lease of life.

Eventually I'd like to see the exterior done too, maybe wrapped as to keep the original paint.

Always good to put ones own stamp on a car… We have a project section, you should kick of a topic so we can all share the fun… Plus loads of great advice form the members of the club which is a constant source of support and encouragement!

Hi Kenneth,

Do you mean yours is the same colour as mine? I've been wondering what the official colour name is if you happen to know it?
