newbie in essex first vw

 thought i would say hello,
i live and work in essex and will be using the car pretty much daily

recently bought my first golf in fact first vw in the shape of a 83 gti
i will be punishing a few of you over the coming months probably years for information and advice as i plan on doing quite a lot with the car as you can see its presentable but theres small patches of rust spread around the car and rear panel is pretty poor diy repair at some point in its past.  its current 1.8 8v is now knocking quite badly under load so rather than work on a 150k engine i will be getting a transplant.

Welcome to the forum,  a GTI always looks good in white with single headlamp grille.  What wheels have you got fitted?

thanks and those are fondmetal 5 spokes 15" they came on the car (previously owned by M carter of heritage vw)
