My name is Jordy i'm 20 years old and just bought my first mk1 1.5 5 door golf. imported from germany.

Some more information about my mk1 GL
I've been looking for a car like this in this condition for almost 2 years! and finely, just before my birthday, My friend called me that he had spotted one for sale. Quickly thereafter me and the seller had a deal. And now ( since barely a month ) im the happy new owner of this ( in my opinion )unique MK1 from 1982.

5 door hatchback.

imported from Germany to The Netherlands in 2010. with 105.000 km driven. its a 4 speed currently. But I'am planning to change it to a 5 speed.

it's a 1500 cc engine which is completely original. pretty much everything was original when i got it. I only lowered it. put some new wheels under it. RVS exhaust system. upgraded the audio system. and added some fog lights.

Currently i'm driving with a different frontgrill Without the volkswagen logo. The old one was kinda getting gray instead of black. and there where a lot of pieces broken off.

I'm now planning to put spacers on it to make it a bit wider. The next thing will be the gearbox. and perhaps if money flows i'll swap the engine to an 1.8T from an mk4 or an 1.8 gti from an mk1.

I'm Pretty new in the autobranche. so im not sure about all the "professional" specifics. I have a good friend who drives a bmw e30. He helps me a Lot with the mechanics.

the colour is red. but on the pics it looks kinda orange due the cause of the bad light

Have you considered starting off a build thread in our project section of the forum. Always great to do so as you can post your progress and keep us all up to date - not to mention gain loads of help from some very wise and knowledgable mk1 owners  

thought u'd might like a little update.

recently finished the complete audio installation. Now i'm finally able to listen some proper music.

put some spacers on the back wheels as well. gives it an overall better look but not sure if it needs to be even wider or if it's oke now. ( take a look at the pictures and let me know)

Also polished my rims ( picture as well )

I'm busy looking for some fenders wideners. ( very hard to find though. maybe one of you guys can help me out) picture of what i mean is included.

i have one question for you guys.

im considering lowering my car a bit more. what do you guys think?
