My Lhasa campaign

The vdo gauges were an option on the campaign just like on the series Two which were fitted by the Vw dealer if you went with the option.

Yep, they were dealer fit options, not factory fit. Worthwhile to install though as the MFA doesn't give you an oil pressure readout.

Beauty of a car too. 51k miles!

Here's your real originality test for a tintop mk1…. is your jack and toolkit still wrapped in a piece of fabric which is an offcut of your seat material?

Cheers,

Drew.

Dcuk- looks like you have a bit to br keeping you busy there!

Looks like a straight car, and would have huge potential as a resto. Are your plans to return it to standard?

It seems funny - in the mid '90s those alloys would have been the mutt's nuts. Weird how fashons change but the Mk1 will be forever cool eh??

Best of luck, thanks for showing me yours

Drew - great to hear from the great man himself! Thanks for the comments, I was becoming concerned that my campaign was missing its rightfull gauges!  8O

Your car has been a big inspiration to me, I hope that mine will one day be as mint as yours. Have enjoyed reading articles that its starred in -eg 'mould breakers' in 'classics' (or whatever its called, not sure because I only boughty the one issue!)

Chris- Yeah the car is straight, its had LOADS spent on it over the years, its got a history file 4 Inches thick!! Originally bought by an army guy in Holland.

As for bringing it back to standard, yes (exterior) but underneath its had the brakes/suspension/gearchange sorted which make it a dream to drive (not that a standard one isnt!!)
I think il leave all those bits as they are, maybe change the exhaust as its a lil loud… not too sure about that bee sting either!

Your so right about the wheels, they are typical of the mid 90's, i remember drooling over the VW magazines as a schoolboy and they all had that style of wheel. Remember the MOMO arrows??

Anyway, ive gone on enough.. good luck with yours!!
