Mk1 golf 1989 cabriolet

Just introducing myself and just picked up a 1989 golf cabriolet

I have just look this to my local classic car dealer as I'm not an expert at carburetors. The car was running really rough and they have informed me that the car that has been placed on the car is a ford webber 32/34 with a K&N filter.

They have informed me their is no adjustment and can't get this to run right.

Are I better off putting the carb back to original or does anyone out their offer advice on what to fit.
