Just a quick tip for you lot…When selling a car, don't boast about how fast it will go! I find the thought of the car I am about to buy being able to do 60 in second gear just a little worrying! Or even top speeds with or without the hood up!…Bet Sheilas wheels love people like you Miss_Mental_mk1!….Carry on!  8O

I wouldn't bother with drilling the airbox… Will only increase the induction noise. Might give a SMALL increase in power if you had a free flowing exhaust, head work, camshaft etc… Just my opinion though! 20vt? Bit of an overkill in mk1. I would go for a 2ltr 16v. At least you will get some traction in 1st & 2nd Keep us posted on how you go…

Lol i havent read this thread in ages, and i dont know quite get that comment you meant towards me, the top speed i was talking about was my track car, which i may talk about top speed, as it was built for racing on track, i dont use my car on road as it wont stand it to well due to the road surface.

And i dont use sheilas wheels im not the sort of girl who is a girlie girl, who needs handbag cover.
