Hi Jayde, I'm another girl on the forum, welcome!

I'm in the process of restoring my Mk1 and, like you, I'm trying to do most of it on my own.

I went to see it today as the body shop have finished it. It comes home next week so now it's onto the engine!

I have a build thread here: http://vwgolfmk1.org.uk/forum/index.php?page=topicview&id=your-mk1-golfs_2%2F1-1-formel-e-restoration

I got it back yesterday and I'm really chuffed!

Plans for the engine are just a general spruce up and replace any gaskets/seals etc that need doing.  :)

Hi Jayde, welcome! I have an alpine white rabbit with white wheels, and Hawaiian seat covers.. Very girly! Had mine over a year now and steadily doing all the bits and bobs to it. If you ever wander up the country there is a welcome in Brum! Hope to see you at some of the meets!  ;)

M00 - ill have a look in a sec, sounds really good!

Javabob - your cabby looks really nice! I love them when they are perfectly shiney and buffed up. You were brave to have the roof down, wind must have been a bit cold, the weather is amazing down your way though. Love sunny Bournemouth and Poole. Lived in parkstone and Bournemouth centre for a little while :)

Arf33 - definitely! Good idea :) have a cheeky BBQ in the new forest in the summer. Would be nice to meet all you guys.

Mrscabrio - I want pictures! She sounds amazing! I love the sound of your seat covers. I don't want to chance my interior be size it's so lovely so I'm going for covers also.

Everyone have a good weekend? Weathers getting nicer :)

Also, I'm thinking of running 15"-9" wheels, has anyone had or know of any problems with wider wheels?

Btw, i have a spare set of identical seat covers for sale if you are interested. I had them in the beetle, but now we have a car with side airbags you cant use seat covers. They are virtually new as I only had them on a fortnight before Keith went to Beetle heaven.  :shake:

Do you have a clos up picture of the covers? Ive heard you cant use seat covers with side bags, why is this?!

Its because they slide when the bags go off, and could push you across the car. I will take a pic tomorrow when I take the cover off, and post it then. They were from Me-Mo and cost a lot, but they wash beautifully and fit lovely. X
