Howdy!

I've been lurking on the forum for almost a decade! I feel like a bit of a weirdo now!

Here's my car. A Mk1 Golf - with a boot!

My dad bought the Jetta from Executive Motors in 1985, where it was the dealership demonstrator. We still have the original bill of sale.

It's the 1600 diesel model and I will be getting it back on the road for shows this summer!

Great to be here. DSC_0024_1.JPG

Welcome spinningfish,
Much work needed to get it road worthy?

1988 Mk1 Golf GTi Cabriolet 1.8cc DX, K-jet. Daily drive. 317,000 miles and counting
1978 Mk1 Scirocco GLS 1.6cc FR, Webber carb. Weekend toy.

I don't think so. My dad had the foresight to waxoil every cavity when he got it, so it's absolutely rock solid.

So, hopefully just brakes and oil, filter, battery etc.

Would like to get some original steelies for it too. Not keen on those alloys.

Welcome! You've got a great looking Mk1 and an even better story/history of how it came to be!

Welcome along you wierdo.

Jettas are cool. Much prefer them to Golfs. (even though I own golfs  :o  )

I also own the Jettas little brother, a mk1 Derby
