Hi All,
Just wanted to say hi, introduce myself, and generally ask some advice
been looking at mk1's for ages and the mrs has put her foot down so will probably be a convertible.
just after a bit of advice really, anything i should be looking out for etc
got my eye on this one http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=281135341525 seems good price and looks fairly clean.
I cant wait to get tinkering when i get one! ;0)

Hey, that looks quite nice.. There's a few on eBay at that sort of price..
When I was looking for mine I went to see a few,
All at different prices so I could go comparing ,, the 1 I bought was in better nick then the 2 at nearly £1000 more..
Check for rust , repairs, bent panels ect…
Do you want standard or modified ??
Happy hunting…

thanks buddy.
i think id like one somewhere in the middle, so not completely stock standard as it will either require to much works or will be too expensive. then on the other hand no to over modified.
looking forward to going to see a few, i just wasnt really sure what the 'right price' was. i guess as you said i should go see some

Hey Gazza,
Not yet, was about to then changed my mind and decided tin top. also tested the waters with some car friends and got a bit of a battering because its white. haha i think the best response was 'you're not in miami' lol
i really wanted a black one!
keep going back to this one, but seems so overpriced vs the amount that needs doing http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=321166583615
thoughts?

Its a cracker mate!! Agree on the over pricing, I'm far from an expert, relatively new to them, but its really nice!! Looks almost a shower mate looking at the shine, matey has probably spent two days waxing it lol. Think the guys being very optimistic with the value, like you say far too much work needed at that price.
My mates just bought a white cabby, on an H plate i think, Clipper kit… YEs looks very Miami vice, but nice though.
I'd keep an eye on the black one, personally prefer the metal bumper ones.
