Not a new member, but never posted.

I've been very rude to you all!

I joined the forum back in 2006 when I bought my 1984 Cabrio GTi and I've never posted on here ever.  The Golf only had a matter of days worth of MOT left on it when I bought it and failed it's 1st MOT on quite a lot, but rather than a quick fix and run it, I decided to make a project out of it and fit a 16v engine.

I still have that Golf and it's sat in the garage since 2006. I've fitted the 16v 1800 engine, added electronic fuel injection with a Megasquirt and an ABF intake and also some other bits and bats, but the project stalled.

I intend to spend some more time on here and get the project rolling again this year.

So, Hello. And I apologise for my rudeness.

Dan.

Haha, you're not rude Dan! Dannyr  (we're just as bad for not having welcomed you yet!)

Thanks for coughing up for membership - hopefully you're starting to see some of the discounts that you can benefit from?

Nice to know you still have the MK1 - best you get some pics up for us to look at

Will you be bringing it along to our annual meet in July?

The state it's in a the moment, I can't see it, you'll understand why when I get some photos up. To say I've had it 9 years progress is poor. It is running but needs new rear arches, a lot of dent removing and I'm planning a re-spray. The interior is the dated 80's brown and tweed, so I plan an interior revamp as well. The hood's had it's day as well, so that need replacing.

I'm thinking about it, but my progress is so slow I think people would loose interest.

I've just been blessed with the birth of my second daughter, so I need a decent 4 seat car now for myself, and thinking the cabrio is as good as any. I'm hoping this is enough impetus to maintain a steady progress.
