Injectors are push fit though the seats they sit in should screw out of the head…

Quite big though, would need a large sump plug or similar sized something or other, with the correct thread!?!?

Oh well thanks, looks like we will just have to bung them up somehow?

I really would like to be able to put it back to injection if needed? Although if its as good as Steve says i might not ever want to!

Steve i've ordered another 2 metres of fuel pipe incase we run short! Ill need a fuel filter too won't i ? A nice Chrome one?  Oh and i've got about 3431 jubilee clips!  :D

If the injector seals screw in then we will just get some big bolts to screw in on that thread…

Might have to be  the week after next if thats okay.  My Y10 is going in for its MOT next week and if it fails I'll be correccting whatever was wrong with it - of course there is a chance it could pass!!

Does anybody know the size thread the injector seats are?  Euro Cap Parts seem to list two part numbers so I'm guessing there was a change over at some point.  Might be worth buying one of each (they are only like ?1.50 or so) then getting four bolts of each size.

ECP seem to suggest there was a change between 17C-999999 and 17D-000001 which I'm guessing is an engine number?

So its off to ECP for some injector seats?  Oh and i had to get myself one of those chrome fuel filters

So not next weekend the one after yes? Where do you want to work at Steve?

I'm so tempted to just whip it all out and do it myself, just bottled it

It refers to the chassis number (VIN) - 17C-999999 would be the last Mk1 made in the 1982 model year (made up to 31/7/82) and 17D-000001 would be the first Mk1 made during the 1983 model year (on 1/8/82).

Assuming that your engine/head is the original, check your VIN, and in particular, the 10th digit (the model year code, as per the (1983) example below) to see which part to order.

WVWzzz17zDW000001

All this is assuming that ECP's info is correct - can anyone anyone here confirm if this is the changeover for the injector seats?

I bought a set of injector seats for my pack D head.

To confuse things further, my parts supplier told me the change was at E chassis. LOL! :banghead:

The later ones have 2 grooves for the later 2 seal injectors, whereas the earlier ones have one. The earlier seats are plastic and are something like M26 bolt size! The later ones are smaller metal items. Gazs head should have the earlier ones. :dontknow:

If you want me measure the seats accuratly, tx me on Tuesday and i'll dig out the vernier. 8)

I love these smilies

See - told you it would be worth it!!  No need to worry about anything - we got it running even with no proper hammer, proper angle grinder or proper hacksaw…

Really flew up the Washington Highway!!
