Hello from Lithuania!

Proud to be a new member here! Here are some pictures :)

Hi all,

My name is Matas and last year I picked up an '88 karmaan rabbit (USA) cabriolet GTI for 2000$. Later I shipped it to Lituhania and waited untill I could drive it :) (At the time I was still 17). This car has become a part of me- I love to work on it, since everything in an older vw is so straight-forward.

But being 18 has its cons… I was being dumb and driving like a reckless a**hole which led I got in an accident… Rear axle was bent, drivers side rear coilover was destroyed, wheel bent, glass shattered and the body panel irreparable… Now I have learned my lesson and I am taking out my little golf only on special occasions, but at the meantime I am working on making it a "daily car". There's still many issues that are still there from the previous owner. The wiring is terrible- so bad that the wires are tangles in some places.

Its been to a body shop and now it looks just as it did before.

I hope I can find everything I need here in order to turn this little car into an ultimate driving pleasure machine.

Cheers!

Accidents happen especially with young drivers. Main thing is you walked away and learned from it.
I think every one has a spell when they feel indestructible.

Sounds like a Cool car. Have you got any pictures of it.

Welcome along and good luck with the car.

I hope you can see the photos without much hassle.

By the way, I have had a chance to improve my English speaking skills while living in US for almost 5 years… But my engine parts terminology knowledge is close to nothing! ;)
