Hello from Chile

Hello guys,

My brother and I are starting a mk1 20vt project. Seen a lot of info here, very useful. Here is a pic of the car and engine.

We have a 02M gearbox, we have read that we need to modify axles and stuff, but we have everything from 02M car, axles, hubs, etc etc, would this be an easy fit ??

To my knowledge you are the first members we've had from Chile and we have over 30,000+ members from around the world and growing. 

So tell us a little about yourselves, the car, the project and the Mk1 seen in Chile? 

Then when you've finished all that you can go back to the car!

I'm not kidding when I say that this Club has more knowledge of the Mk1 now than VW, well that and we're a lot more fun to boot!

My brother (25) and I (29) we are both petrolheads, this particular project was on our minds for a while, and now we had a very good opportunity to buy one, with engine and gearbox (abandoned project), so we did !

Engine is an AUQ, from a Aniversary Golf GTI with 6 speed gearbox. Problably going with standalone ECU, car already has coilovers and mk3 brakes, so most work now is fitting the engine.

We are still getting info if 02m is worth installing or just go with 02J.
