Hello everyone, Campaign 83'

Hello everyone, had a look around and you have a great site! Bought my MK1 a couple weeks ago and the plan is to get it as original as I can but the 1st problem is not being able to get it in to 1st gear. Spoke to a mechanic and he has highlighted a diagram of gear linkages is needed but I dont know the names of the parts. Iv had a look and found a few sites that sell full kits or just bushes but I really am struggling to find what I need. Any help would be great.

Welcome along mate.

The gear linkage is a common problem. There's even a Wheeler Dealer episode where a young Ed sorts one out. Keep your eyes peeled on the discovery channels.

Looking at the diagram and the gear linkages on the Ebay advert and not sure they the right parts as they dont match?

Will defenatly have a look for that Wheeler Dealer episode though!
