helllooooo from wolverhampton

hello everyone, well after many years I have finally got one of my dream cars, its a 1980 golf cabriolet    yay.  it is a barn find and has not moved in nearly 3 years!! so I went to fetch her stuck a fresh battery on and up she fired straight away, she is an import from Belgium I think and she has had a gti 1.8 engine fitted at some point. she is down as a 1.5 on the log book, so I got her back home yesterday and booked her straight in for a mot to see what I was dealing with……..she failed on 2 items a unsecured battery (my own fault) and a faulty fog light!!!!!! that's it, the garage put her on the ramps and showed me the underneath…..absolutely solid not one patch of rust and all the underseal still intact. I was blown away at the condition of it, the same cannot be said for the rest of the car, weather, birds and mice nesting in the car !!!! still its mine now and I hope to be chatting to you all as I am gonna need lots of help getting her back to her best.
