Sarf East Laaandun  has got a new Mk1 driving about.

A (very rare) standard height Mk1 Caddy with a farmer Giles bed top.

It's gonna be pukka for taking them diesel LPG kits down the market.

Rodneeee!

Welcome aboard,
There's a few caddies on here.
Great motors they are.
What's the plans with this one, standard, flipped axle.
There was a truckman top for sale on here a bit ago.
Have you seen the one with the sleeping quarters on top?
Ideal for those summer nights away..
Cheers

Hello Chortle

I'd actually like to raise the front by about 1.5" to level it with the rear & go for a sort of 4x4 SUV look but it seems to be such a rare mod that no one can tell me how to do it.

If everyone keeps this a secret then I may be forced to go a bit lower.

This will be used mainly for lugging my WR250 to nice green lanes around the country.

Camper top not needed. I've got another VW for that. Dubs are a bit in my bloodstream.

You're an addict lol.

Didn't the USA have a bigger 4x4 option ride height?
I'm sure I've seen something like before. I like the T25's too, prices on splitties and buses are just massive now. Although you could get a "new T25" from Brazil. Been told though they don't last well here because of poor finish and rust proofing that isn't up to our climate.  Saw Danbury's were retailing those. If I come across the piccy of the Caddy I'm thinking off I'll ping it up here.
keep up the good work here. There's some caddy build threads to have a nosey through on here too.

Thanks for the kind words. Loving the Forum.

Yes I'm an addict. My VWs are getting later & later though.

My first restoration, bought for £650 with a full years MOT. 1953 RHD.

Which was p/exd for my split, many years later.

Beetle porn lol,
Love it, My grampy had a square back funny looking thing.
I'll have to dig some pics out and pop em up. Was it the earlier beetle that had a split oval rear window?
Some expensive cars out there and to think VW was rescued after WW2 by a British Major…

Nice air cooled.

When I had a Caddy it failed the MOT on a broken front coil spring. I replaced with two new ones from GSF/Euro carparts (pattern ones) and it jacked up the suspension. Some raise in height was prob due to the originals being tired and broken but did make it look a bit 4x4y.

Welcome Tel, that's a nice, original looking Caddy. Liking your previous list too - that oval window Beetle!
