First mk1 cabriolet

Post

Hello,

My name is Veronica and I've just brought my first Mk1 cabriolet ;-). Seemed to have picked up a real gem after looking around up and down the country for months. Guess what? it was right under my nose and I had driven past it for a few weeks!!!!!!!! I couldn't believe it. It does require a little bit of work, both bumpers missing but seen them on eBay ;-)

Any advice will be helpful! I have checked all the usual suspect places but please share any advice you can ;-)

Anyway, thought I'd say hi.

Thank you for making me welcome ;-) this is the first time I've used a forum (usually just leave it to the other half) but as it's my car, thought why not! So working on getting some pics up, haven't got a clue what photobucket is   :$

Thanks Taran,

Any pics of yours? One thing I do know is these are pretty basic mechanically, so just make a note of what you remove so you know where to put it back!

I've had a quick scout through other conversations and it seems everyone is willing to help, so don't be scared to ask!

Good luck to you too    hope to meet some people at some shows next year

Thanks, wheels definitely need a refurb but they are the least of my worries at the momentlol. Been looking for some bumpers but just want Classico ones not that big bumper malarkey    just put a thread up in general chat as roof needs replacing. It's not leaking water but don't want to leave it to get to that stage. I've put a pic up too ( have a look). Just ordered bumpers, should get them tomorrow

I'll keep an eye out for your motor over the weekend Taran!

Veronica welcome!
If you need any advise what so ever, this is the place to ask.
Even if you think it's a silly little question because we've all been surprised or caught out at some time or other, trust me.  :$

There's more VW Golf MK1 knowledge at this Club then there is at VW, no joke!

More pictures please.
