Brighton Newbie

Just thought I would introduce myself!

My name is Mikey and I have just purchased 2 golf clippers so I thought it was best to become a paid member and make the most of the wisdom on here!.

Im a Dub addict and have had 48 classic VWs (mostly bay window campers). I am sick of aircooled breakdowns so i thought I would try the watercooled vairiety so I sold my camper and bought two clippers (his and hers).

One is a 1990 and the other a 1991. Both 1.8 Clippers.

My white one I have already done a webber conversion as the Pierburg died in my first week of ownership and it has made an amazing difference and I cant believe how easy it was to do myself!

My wifes red auto is totally stock (pierburg will probably die next week though) but is full of water so Im in the process of drying it out and finding the source of the leak into the footwells.

Anyway, Im absolutely loving my cabbys and they make me smile way more than a clumsy old camper!

common source for leaks; locking handles, bulkhead join under scuttle tray. drainage holes on bulkhead, windows not meeting roof rubber sills, plastic door lining been taken off/leaking down window out of door.

Welcome Mike - when you converted from dry to wet engines I guessed you didn't bank on a wet interior too!

Hopefully it's an easy fix, they both look great cars

They scrubbed up well. Got the red one for £850 and the white for £1000.

Just needed a bit of TLC!
