So I was very lucky to pick her up for the price of a Med holiday :-)

last owner, an old chap called Micheal had her for 32 years. Only covered 67k miles. Interior is perfect. No parcel shelf, but hoping somebody can help me here - did the 5 door have one?

exterior is spot on bar faded paint and a few 'scabs' and a rust hole on driver wing. Boot is straight from the factory! No rotted wheel well or rusty turrets!!

All in in all a solid car and I'm chuffed to bits to own her now…..

looking forward to brining her to a show or two……

comments welcome :-)

Great colour and yes it would have had a parcel shelf.

Just thought I'd put up a few more pics. First time I've had her out in the daylight after purchase & can't believe the condition….. Drives a dream too… I'm quite impressed how the 1500 chugs along…. One happy bunny  ;)

Saw an identical model at a show today so took a picture of the correct parcel shelf for you.

Back in the fold........New very red pics!!!

I had an '82 1.5 GL when I was 19, some 25 ish years ago!! It was black with the same red interior as yours. I liked the way t chugged along too, not a bad engine at all!

That's the only photo I have of it!

Ref the parcel shelf, perhaps you could look to paint or die one? You may have to find a beige one to do that but this may be slightly easier than finding a red one!

Nice find! There is a chap called Andy that breaks mk1s in Bude (a farm in Poughill I recall). Can't be far from you and possibly worth a shout. Sorry I don't have his number anymore but some others on here may know.

Thanks Andy for the ideas around the parcel shelf…..

Yea I know Andy in Bude! He used to have 100's of Golfs, Caddies, Sciroccos but he's shifted most of them now… I may wander down though and see if he still has anything kicking around….

Cheers all
